Competition in the online series-film industry is heating up day by day. After Netflix, BluTV, Exxen, PuhuTV, Gain and Amazon Prime operating in Turkey, a new company entered the Turkish market. You’ve all heard the name of the company: Disney Plus or as it’s known as Disney Plus.
The Disney Plus platform, which received a 10-year broadcast license from RTUK, the regulatory body in Turkey, started broadcasting on June 14, 2022.
The platform draws attention with thousands of hours of TV series and movie content from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, as well as 20th Century Studios, Disney Television Studios, FX, Searchlight Pictures and many other studios. In addition, Turkish TV series and movies will occupy a large space on the platform in the future.
Turkish Series on Disney Plus
In this article, we have mentioned Disney Plus‘s first Turkish original production, Escape (Kacis) with Engin Akyurek.
Escape (Kacis) is about what happens after a group of reporters who sneak to a Yazidi village across the border to conduct research falls into the hands of a radical terrorist organization.
After Engin Akyurek‘s Escape, three more local TV series that will be on Disney Plus Turkey have been announced. Timucin Esen‘s Gray (Gri), Demet Ozdemir and Bugra Gulsoy starring in Between the World and Me (Dunyayla Benim Aramda) and Hunter (Avci) with Pinar Deniz and Uraz Kaygilaroglu were announced as new series to be broadcast on the platform.
Escape (Kacis)
The series stars Engin Akyurek and Irem Helvacioglu. The series will meet the audience with an international cast.
The series begins with war photographer Mehmet and a group of journalists from different countries going to the Yazidi village to do research. The series is about the fall of the group, who secretly crossed the border, into the hands of a radical terrorist organization, the events they experienced, the changes and their escape.
Two episodes of the series have been released so far. In our opinion, it is a very successful production, you should definitely give it a chance.
Grey (Gri)
Taylan Brothers will sit in the director’s chair of the Gray (Gri) series. The leading role will be the famous actor Timucin Esen and Ebru Ozkan. Timucin Esen last appeared in the House M.D. adaptation of the Hekimoglu TV series.
The cast of the series also includes Alican Yucesoy, Ilayda Akdogan, Buce Buse Kahraman, Mucahit Kocak, Onur Bilge, Selin Kahraman and Daniel Koray Ozsoy.
The series is about the life of Fuat, who is a successful and respected lawyer, when his daughter changes with an unfortunate event. While Fuat wants to avenge the incident, his life turns upside down with mysterious messages coming to his phone and he faces his past.
The shooting of the crime, mystery and psychological thriller series has started.
Between the World and Me (Dunyayla Benim Aramda)
The series will bring together Demet Ozdemir, whom everyone knows well, and Bugra Gulsoy.
The director of the series will be Hulya Gezer. The series, in which Pinar Bulut will act as a screenwriter, is expected to consist of 8 episodes.
In the series, a beautiful girl trying to fill her sense of emptiness with love; She will tell about her alienation to the man she loves over time and the game she plays on social media to keep her love alive.
Hunter (Avci)
Pinar Deniz and Uraz Kaygilaroglu will star in the lead roles in the Hunter (Avci) series. Lastly, Pinar Deniz attracted all the attention with her drama series Yargi. Uraz Kaygilaroglu last appeared in the Netflix series Ersan Kuneri.
