Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Turkish Actors (https://turkishactors.net, “we”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: hi@turkishactors.net.

What we collect

Voting in polls

To keep polls fair we store, for each vote, the choice, the time, your country (from your IP address) and an anonymous, salted hash of your IP address and of a random device cookie (ta_vid). We do not store your IP address itself. Vote logs are deleted after 90 days; only anonymous totals are kept.

Member accounts (Sign in with Google)

If you sign in, Google shares your account id, display name and profile picture with us. We store these to show your profile and your voting allowance, streak and purchases. A signed session cookie (ta_s) keeps you signed in. We never receive your Google password.

Comments

When you comment we store your name, the optional e-mail address you enter, the comment and a hash of your IP address for spam protection. Comments are public; e-mail addresses are never shown.

Purchases (Fan Pass and bonus votes)

Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details, billing address and e-mail address under Paddle’s privacy policy. We do not see or store your card details; we only receive the order id, the product and the account it belongs to, so we can add the perks to your account.

Notifications

If you allow browser notifications, our provider OneSignal stores a push subscription id for your browser, and we store which actors, series or polls you follow. You can turn notifications off anytime in your browser.

Analytics, ads and bot protection

  • Google Analytics measures visits (pages viewed, approximate location, device).
  • Google AdSense / Ad Manager show ads and may use cookies to personalise them, depending on your consent choices. See how Google uses data.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that votes and comments come from humans; Cloudflare hosts the site and processes requests to deliver it.

Embedded content (for example YouTube videos) behaves as if you visited the other site and may set its own cookies.

Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of cookies: ta_vid (fair voting), ta_s (signed-in session), and cookies set by the analytics, ads and payment providers above. Your browser’s local storage remembers your theme, your recent votes and the actors you follow on that device. You can delete them in your browser settings.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers named above, and only so they can provide their service to us (hosting, sign-in, payments, notifications, analytics, ads, spam protection), or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Vote logs: 90 days (anonymous totals are kept).
  • Accounts: until you ask us to delete your account.
  • Comments: until you or we remove them.
  • Purchase records: as long as required for accounting and tax purposes (Paddle keeps its own records as Merchant of Record).

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use, by writing to hi@turkishactors.net. If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Security

The whole site is served over HTTPS. Voter identifiers are stored only as salted hashes, sessions are cryptographically signed, and the admin area is protected by an access gateway.
