Cilek Kokusu

About the series

Çilek Kokusu (Strawberry Smell) is a Turkish romantic comedy produced by Gold Film, starring Demet Özdemir as Aslı Koçer, Yusuf Çim as Burak Mazharoğlu and Ekin Mert Daymaz. It aired on Star TV in the summer of 2015 and was Demet Özdemir’s first leading role.

Plot

Aslı is a hard-working young woman who loses her job after an accident caused by Burak, the spoilt son of a wealthy family. Things take an unexpected turn when she applies for a job at the luxury hotel his father owns in Bodrum. Forced to work side by side, the cheerful, honest Aslı and the arrogant Burak clash at every turn, until sparks of a different kind begin to fly.

Why watch it

With its sunny Bodrum setting, light-hearted humour and classic “opposites attract” story, Çilek Kokusu is a perfect summer watch. It is also the series where many international fans first discovered Demet Özdemir, who went on to star in No: 309 and the global hit Erkenci Kuş.

The series was one of the Turkish romantic comedies later picked up by international platforms, including Peacock in the United States.
