About the series
Masumiyet Müzesi (The Museum of Innocence) is a Turkish Netflix original limited series based on Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk’s 2008 novel of the same name. Produced by Ay Yapım, written by Ertan Kurtulan and directed by Zeynep Günay, its nine episodes were released on 13 February 2026, starring Selahattin Paşalı and Eylül Lize Kandemir.
It became one of the most talked-about Turkish productions of 2026 and topped IMDb’s list of the most popular Turkish shows. Orhan Pamuk himself appears in the series.
Plot
Istanbul, 1975. Kemal Basmacı, the son of a wealthy family, is about to become engaged to Sibel, a perfect match from his own social class. Then he meets Füsun, a beautiful, much poorer distant relative, and falls into a passionate and impossible love.
Kemal’s obsession lasts for years. To preserve every moment he spent with Füsun, he collects the objects she touched and used, and eventually turns them into a museum. In the background the story traces Istanbul’s society, its bourgeoisie and the tension between East and West from the 1970s to the 2000s.
