Öykü Karayel is a Turkish actress best known as Cemre in the drama Kuzey Güney, Eylül in the medical drama Kalp Atışı and her lead role in Kaderimin Oyunu. She was born on 21 August 1990 in Istanbul and has a twin sister.
Karayel graduated from Çemberlitaş Girls’ High School, trained briefly at the Kenter Theatre and entered the theatre department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory in 2007. While still a student she played the lead, Ayşe, in the play Güzel Şeyler Bizim Tarafta.
Her performance in a play at Theatre Krek caught the eye of screenwriter Ece Yörenç, who was looking for an actress to play Cemre in Kuzey Güney. Karayel won the role and starred opposite Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Buğra Gülsoy in one of the most successful Turkish dramas of the early 2010s.
In June 2017 she began playing Dr. Eylül Erdem in Kalp Atışı. In 2021 she shared the leads in the Star TV drama Kaderimin Oyunu with Akın Akınözü and Sarp Apak, and she has continued to work in film, television and theatre.
